Disney Vacation Club Members have a special opportunity to preview Disney’s Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure at Epcot®, an immersive new experience designed to turn Guests into crime-fighting secret agents. This is a chance to experience the adventure before it opens officially to Guests.

First, here’s the scoop (or “the sitch,” as Kim would say) about the attraction:

Inspired by the hit Disney Channel animated television series “Kim Possible,” the attraction allows Guests of all ages to become secret agents by volunteering at recruitment centers throughout the Park (look for them in the Future World area and near the International Gateway), where they’ll receive their mission assignment. Upon reporting for duty, recruits will get their “way cool Kimmunicators” (interactive, handheld, cell-phone-like devices that will help maneuver agents through their mission) and head out on their adventure in one of seven participating World Showcase pavilions (China, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Norway and the United Kingdom).

The Kimmunicators will connect agents with a variety of “Kim Possible” characters who will provide clues to help stop villains from carrying out their plans. Each mission is designed with groups in mind (2-4 agents can share a Kimmunicator) and can last anywhere from 30-45 minutes. Kimmunicators even recognize when a team has broken away from the action (even secret agents need restroom breaks) and will alter the mission accordingly.

Now, here’s the scoop about the Disney Vacation Club Member preview:

Disney Vacation Club Members may embark on missions available Jan. 23-25 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. (Missions begin every 15 minutes.) Missions are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Members and their Guests will begin their missions by reporting to the Team Possible Recruitment Center located on the bridge leading from Future World to World Showcase at Epcot. Members must present their Member ID card or their Key to the World card displaying a Member designation.

DVC Point Purchase

If you are planning on purchasing additional interest in a Disney Vacation Club timeshare, then make sure you take advantage of the current pricing.

I purchased quite a few years ago, and the points were on @ $87 a point.  With the changes in the amount of years, and the perks you receive for purchasing, now is the best time.

Currently if you purchase an addon, the points are $104 per point.  If you wait until January 15, 2009, then the points go up to $114 per point.

Disney DVC – Notes

When purchasing DVC make sure that you account for everything.  Look at what is being offered, and think long about your decision.  Most people with the average family really only need 150-200 points.  Once you are a member you can add on more points if you find it necessary.  Don’t forget that you can borrow up to 1 year forward.

DVC does its own financing.  Most people are suprised to find out that the interest rates are not all that bad in comparison to taking out a loan, or something in that fashion.  If you have a home, and can pull a equity loan with a low enough interest rate, then do that.  I had our timeshare for 2 years.  We got a offer to get a home equity loan for half the interest Disney was charging.  Yes, I believe we lost the tax benefits, but I also lost a lot of the figure if I had paid for it solely through Disney.

Try to go through someone like Http://www.dvc-resales.com.  You won’t be buying direct from Disney, but that really doesn’t change a thing.  You can usually get a great deal if you are dealing with a company that is reselling what others are getting rid of.  If you want to go through Disney, then I would recommend Kelly Jo, as she is very outgoing, and knows a lot of what she is doing.  I must say that every DVC salesperson I have met seems to know what they are doing.

The cost per point is much greater now than it was when I bought.  Each resort has a different price per point.  Remember… Points can be used, rented, or transfered.

While some people use their points to take a Disney Cruise, I actually recommend against this.  If calculate it on the money side… Use this formula…(Remember these are only approximated numbers.)

Each point has a value of $ per point.

     (At purchase the points cost you…)

I can rent, trade, or transfer for $ per point.

     (You can go online and rent, trade, or transfer points for @$10+)

I can potentially spend $ to book the Disney Cruise paying Cash/Credit.

     (The cruise is @ $700 per adult x 2 + $400 per child)

Disney DVC – Boardwalk – Review

Here is some information about the Disney DVC Resort Boardwalk.

This is one of those resorts that I refered to earlier in the series as a “Hotel Type.” The rooms are stacked, and the parking lot is far from the rooms. The hotel itself is very nicely laid out. When you walk into a hotel you go through a lobby, and then down long corridors to your room. This pretty much follows through with The Boardwalk.

The pool is themed around a old style amusement park.  Children, and adults of all ages seem to like the pool very much.  There is a “Boardwalk” that has activities, and shops.  There are boat launches to talk guests to Epcot.  The Boardwalk also has buses that transport guests throughout the property.  There is also a boat rental location that you can rent mini boats, full size pontoons, and water bikes.

Holidays in Disney are mind blowing.  During the Christmas holiday at there is a magnificent display of Gingerbread scenes throughout the main lobby.  Majority of the resorts have some sort of Gingerbread display on hand.  On Easter children from the resort gather on the rear lawn, and get to gather candy, make cookies, greet the characters, and much more.

Disney DVC – Animal Kingdom Villas – Review

Here is some information about the Disney DVC Resort Old Key West.

Animal Kingdom Villas is amongst the newest of the resorts on the DVC list. This resort is also amongst the “Hotel Type.” While the actual DVC rooms are not completed, Disney has refurbished some of the original rooms to be similar to what the DVC rooms are expected to be. Reservations for the resort are supposed to start for April occupancy.

The best feature I found with this resort is that you can walk onto your balcony, and see Live animals. (If you have a Savanah view) Waking up in the morning to watch animals from your window is by far one of the most amazing things that a person can do, in my impression.

The resort is themed around the African lifestyle. The pool is of good size, and enjoyable for children. There is a slide at this pool. Transportation by the Disney buses is great. The bus stop is a little off of the range of closeness to the resort entrance. There is a restaurant at the resort that serves up authentic foods for the theme.
