Shopping For Gifts While Away

When we go to the Disney World Resort in Florida we always find ourselves looking for some sort of souvenier, or gifts for upcoming holidays.  Finding the unique gift that you would want to give someone is always a challenge.  My little brother “L” is a football person, and likes the Giants.  Well, we have looked high and low, but we cannot seem to find any sort of Mickey Mouse with Giants clothing.

We even thought of getting him a stuffed Mickey Mouse, and then using NFL shop coupons to get some Giants clothing.  We decided that it just wouldn’t be the same as buying something that is already done up.  Throwing something together isn’t the same as searching for that one of a kind gift.

What do you think about our manner of thinking?

Disney Trading Pins Are Hard Gifts

Now that Christmas is here we are all running around like nuts trying to get our holiday shopping done.  Our little one is slightly puzzled because usually we go to Disney before the holidays, and she usually finds some of her gifts there.  She seems to like to get her Grandpa gifts that she picks out.  She used to get him some Disney Trading Pins, but they are hard to get because she never knows what he already has.

This year she is not sure what to do, but she knows that her grandpa loves Mickey Mouse, Coca Cola, and his computer.  We are going to look through some catalogs with her to help her with finding something.

How do you get someone Disney Pins without getting something that they may already have?

Stationary Of Almost Any Type

When you are looking to make that special occassion a Disney special occassion it isn’t a hard thing to do anymore.  If you search around you can find almost every type of gift available with Disney characters on them.  This also stands true with cards.  You can find birthday, graduation, get well, and baby shower invitations with Disney characters on them.

Disney cards are great if you can get the right card with the right character.  You still have to know how to shop for cards.

Disney Cooking In My House

We love Disney cooking when we are on vacation in Disney World, or on the Disney Cruise.  For Christmas this year I had to get my wife some more things for her kitchen.  Among other gifts I got her a brand new Disney waffle maker, and a Disney salt n pepper shaker.  She has a rather large salt n pepper shaker collection so I think that I will be stopping for a while.  I wanted to get her some really nice cooking things, but I couldn’t locate them locally, and I don’t do my shopping until late.  I saw a Disney Winnie The Pooh popup tea pot, and same really nice cookware like they use in the Disney kitchens.  I couldn’t get them this year, but maybe next year.  What is weird is that each time I searched for Disney cookware I happened to get results for le creuset cookware.  They don’t make Disney, but the cookware looked really nice.  Maybe I should email them directly to see if they have anything that would work for my needs.  I am trying to locate the recipe for Disney’s Bananas Foster.  That was the best, but 1900 Park Fare stopped serving it, and I have been very upset since because I can’t find it anywhere on grounds.

Mouse Surplus… What Happened To Them?

Back a few years ago my family, and I went to the original Mouse Surplus warehouse not far from the Orlando Airport.  MouseSurplus is better known as a Disney prop salvager as far as I am concerned.  We have purchased some things from their store, and would like to purchase again.  During our last few trips we have tried to get in touch with them to confirm that they are open, and that people can come by their location.  The phone number on the web doesn’t work, and the only thing that leads me to believe that they are still in existence is their online auction account is still active.

If you are unfamiliar with Mouse Surplus, then here is the highlight of the company for the most part…

That’s right… That is Monorail Red in the back.  They sold it.  Do some Google-ing, and see what happened to it in the end.
