Insurance & Your Job

Not only is our economy in the tank already, but we seem to have people in the government that want to make more changes that will effect everyone.  While some of the plans the President has are nice for the low income the rest of the U.S. will feel some pain.  With all that is going on with the President and his medical reforms, and changes I am sure that a lot of people will be feeling the pinch on their wallets when all is done, and over with.  Companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield NJ, Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina, and actually all the insurance plans will either make out real good, or hurt real bad.  I think that more, and more travelers will have to start changing their money spending habits.

People are loosing their homes because they can’t afford them, and that is because the unemployment rates are at all time highs.  People with really good educations can’t even get minimum wage jobs because it is so tight out there in the workforce.  I am sure that the employees in Disney have some great benefits, and insurance, but I am sure that they are going to be doing some complaining when it starts to lighten the wallet.  They all seems to have some sort of issue whenever something changes their paychecks.

I think the President could do something for those that don’t have insurance, but those that have it should be able to elect whether, or not they want any part of the changes.  I know of a few local companies that are trying to make it so that it won’t hurt the employee.

The Facilities In Disney

While vacationing in Disney World one can’t but notice that the restrooms are placed in just the right spots so that the rest of a family has to shop while waiting for someone to return.  I can say that the restrooms are usually quite clean.  Disney seems to have gone to automatic hand drying machines in some of the restrooms.

All that Disney needs to do now is overhaul the toilets from those old ones that they are still using, and maybe upgrade to ones that are a bit more comfortable, or even more conservative on water kinda like the ones that I saw on the Toto toilets website.

I am not one to want to get comfortable in a public restroom, but I also don’t like to be uncomfortable.  Some of the ones that they have are just crazy… heated seats, remote control, warm air drying… what’s next?

Getting Ready To Leave

I am now making final preparations to go home.  We have been here for about a week, and now I have no choice but to go home.  I wish I could get a job here in Disney, but moving, and everything else would make it an impossible idea.  While I was here I got a call telling me that there were some possible jobs in philadelphia.

While I don’t want to leave Sony I have come to terms that I must do whatever it takes to make a paycheck, and pay for my bills, and support my family.  I know that the boss at Sony understands for the most part why I am actively looking for a new job, but I know that it would disappoint him if I have to leave.

What would you do if you were happy, but the money just wasn’t making you happy?  A job in Disney would really make me happy, but the move isn’t something I am ready for.  On top of that… the economy isn’t the greatest, so selling my house would be difficult.

Must Be Done Repairs

My daughters bathroom has needed some serious attention for the past few years.  I had told the wife that I wanted to make it into a Disney themed bathroom.  She was considering this, but we both had to decide on the fixtures that we would put in the bathroom.  The flooring has already been looked at, and will be linoleum.  I find this to be the easiest cleaning, and maintenance.  Think about it… kids bathroom, shower… What do you get when you mix the 2?  A very wet floor from my experience.  Tiling isn’t optimal because of this.

We got a flyer the other day that made me a bit happier because there were numerous sales on some Disney decorations that I would want to put in the bathroom.  When we started hunting for a well made faucet, and showerhead for the bathroom we couldn’t find any in the Hansgrohe section of the site that we found.

I haven’t found many companies that have a Disney collection, but I do know that they exist.  (Not only in Disney World, or DisneyLand.)  Have you seen the Disney fixtures, and where did you see them?

I’m Not Going To DisneyLand…

You have all see the “I’m going to Disney World / DisneyLand” commercials, right?  Well, I thought that the courts for Circuit City bankruptcy might leave me yelling that in the end when they sent me my money that was due.

Circuit City was a true Mickey Mouse operation in my opinion.  Not that they made any money… Kinda a no brainer at this point… But some Goofy guy took notes from some Scrooge McDuck, and came up with Firedog, and all the lovely stuff that actually caused Circuit City to fail.  At least the real Mickey Mouse opertion is still open, and doing business.  May Mickey should have talked to the rests of the crowd.

I personally think that all of the companies in the world that think that they can get a professsional installation from an EMPLOYEE need to have their heads examined.  Those guys will make their daily paycheck, and go home knowing that you won’t replace the guy that is making minimum wage.  Companies that have contracted outsiders doing the work for reasonable pay will get professional installations everytime.  This is because they want to keep the money coming.

Well, I just got one of the last sets of paperwork from the Circuit City bankruptcy case.  I had filed to recoup some of the money that they left me high and dry on.  I never knew that a bankruptcy case could be so long, and drawn out.  Well, basically the paperwork I received is telling me that I need to vote about whether, or not I will get my money.  If I vote one way I could receive nothing.  If I vote the other way, then they just give me a “cash prize of $100.”

How do the courts in the world expect hard working individuals to accept a “Leave us alone, and go away” payment that doesn’t equate to even 1/10th of the money that is owed.  Now I can see how the economy got so bad.  Companies playing with everyones money, and noone is holding the bag.

Well, for now I will have to pay to go to Disney out of my own pocket, as there is no Magical Express here.
