Almost Time To Leave

Disney World is only a few days away, and we are all getting anxious.  We have reservations for some of the best buffets around, and being we are on Annual Passeswe can go in, and out of the parks as much as we want.

I forgot to give my wife our “Packing List”, and she has made it abundantly clear that anything we forget is my fault.  I got her the list so that we can get this done without incident.  The listwas put together so that we can be sure to have everything.  She has added a few things to our list this year.  She is concerned that they may be needed.  We haven’t needed them before, but she has added things like day creams, curling iron, and some dress clothing.  The dress clothing I understand in case we go to a nicer restaurant, but the creams…?

When we make up the list we make our little one write down what games she is bringing for her DS, and PSP.  This is so that we can keep track of the games when we pack to leave for home.  We have limited how many games because we know that kids have a tendancy to lose things.  Last trip to Disney World we forgot a dvd that we had brought.  The things that the maids find in a Disney hotel at cleanup time is probably amazing.

Getting A Job With Disney

A few years ago I told the wife that I wanted to work for Disney.  She said that the next time we went to Disney World I could go to the HR department, and apply.  Being we were on vacation already I wouldn’t have to spend money to go to Florida, or anything else.  The employment screening process seems to take some time.  I didn’t think that I would be there all day, but in the end I was.  I was finally talked to, and after hearing my approximate starting pay I decided against working for the Mouse.

I still have dreams of one day working for Disney, but I think they are just that… Dreams.  By the time I move, and everything the money would have to be very good, and currently with the economy I don’t think I am going to have anyone kicking down my door to pay me what I would want.  I just read the other day that Disney is now trying to get people to work at the Hawaii DVC location.  That would be a great job, and I would love to have it.  If it didn’t require moving, then I would applly.

Final Prep For Easter Trip To WDW

Today I made some calls, paid some bills, and finished all the last minute preparations for our upcoming trip to WDW.  We had to make sure that we were going to actually stay in the timeshare because we have been talking about going down, and camping in Disney World with our camper.  We decided against doing that because of gas, time, and more.  Lastly I had to take care of getting our auto insurance straightened out, and everything else seems caught up for this trip.

We usually let my mother meet us in Disney when we go, but this year the wife, and daughter want to try out vacationing on our own.  We did it once before, and it was ok.  We are going to stay in Old Key West.  I had forgotten to make a few of our dining reservations, so I had to rush through, and get them made.  I luckily enough got all of the reservations that we wanted, so we will be eating rather well.  We made reservations for:

  1. Coral Reef
  2. Teppan Edo
  3. Chef Mickey’s
  4. Crystal Palace
  5. 1900 Park Fare
  6. Ohana
  7. Hollywood & Vine

I am unsure of the weather, so we are going to play that by ear for the next week, or so.  I am currently getting our laptops ready to go, and I got a wireless access point so that both of our laptops can be online in our room.

We are hoping to just do a bit of relaxing, but knowing that we won’t be going back to WDW for a bit is what bothers me.  I mean unless money gets better we aren’t planning on returning again this year.  We want to do the Disney Dream cruise in 2011, so we are going to try and save some money.

I plan on getting answers that you send me, and doing a bit of research on a few things, so please let me know if there is anything you need answered, or photographed, or video recorded.

Is anyone else going to Disney World for Easter?  Let me know.

Vacationing With The Wii

My wife uses Wii Fit, and Wii Active, and she loves that video games not only can be useful as a fat burner, but that you can have fun while you’re using it.  Our little one also loves playing on her Wii with the Wii fit board, and I don’t think she even realizes that she’s getting exercise while she’s playing her video game.  I can’t say it enough that this makes me very happy.  This makes my wife very happy as well because she feels to much of video games make kids lazy, but when using the Wii you move around a lot, and she thinks that makes it a good system for kids to have.

When we went away this past trip to Disney we took our Wii with us because we thought it might be nice to play a game, and while playing a game put a bit of exercise in.  We have yet to find any real good Disney games for the Wii, but we will keep looking.  I have hoped that Disney would come up with some sort of game that virtually walks through Disney World, or something like that.

Do you have a Wii, and has it helped keep your kids active?
