Final Preperations For October Trip

We have recently been doing our final plannings for our trip in October.  Being that we are driving we are now making sure that everything on the car is in top shape.  We haven’t decided on if we are going to get a  roadside assistance plan, or not.  Roadside assistance is good if anything happens, but I also have to consider that I have a Kia plan already on the car.

The trip from NJ takes me about 18 hours.  We do have to make stops, but we have accounted for them this time.  What we have found is that when we drive down we will usually stay overnight in an Disney area hotel, and check in the next day.

We just found out that a few more of our friends are going to be going to Disney at the same time as us.  I think this trip is going to be outrageous.

Disney Trip Travelling

We are going to Disney World in November 2009, and April 2010.  The wife, and daughter will be going with me for 1 entire week this time.  We have found that staying much less doesn’t pay.

We are continually looking for cheap airline tickets.  We have found over the past few years that during the times that we want to go away we usually run into the great pricing war.  Basically the one with the lowest of the highest prices wins.

For my family we try to fly out of Atlantic City International.  Cheap flights is what Spirit Airlines advertises most of the time.  The only real catch is that they want you to be part of the $9 fare club.  This club sounds intriguing, but in all reality getting those airline tickets ends up costing just about what some of the others are charging.

Flying out of Orlando can be very easy if you are looking for discount seats.  The only thing you have to possibly deal with is a stop off enroute to your destination.  We did this one year, and we vowed to each other that we would never do it again on such a short timed flight.  Maybe if we ever go out to California, or something, but not to Orlando, or back home to Atlantic City.

We have finally decided that we are just going to drive to Disney World.  For one we don’t have to worry about a rental car when we get there, and another benefit is that I will only really spend on gas, and time out of work.

Disney & Our Current Economy

I was talking to someone the other day, and they were telling me that they were looking to go to Disney, but money was a bit rough with them at that time.  I tried working them out some prices for when they were looking to go.

After discussing the possibility of going he told me that he had to finish up with his debt consolidation before he could entertain the thought anymore.

The economy is reducing a lot of vacations from everything I am reading.  I can only afford to go away because I own my timeshare with Disney.  If it wasn’t for that factor, then my family probably wouldn’t be going to Disney again at this point in time.

We aren’t going to fly, but instead we are driving.  The cost of driving is cheaper than flying because I own the car, and I won’t have to get a rental when getting there, plus I can make my own agenda for vacation, rather than dealing with flight schedules, etc.

We got a Studio Villa in Old Key West Resort, and then moving over to a Studio with Savannah View at Animal Kingdom Villas.  We are more than likely going to get the food plan.  It would probably work out to be roughly the same price as buying foods to cook, and purchasing snacks in the parks.

Now It’s Time To Say Goodbye…

I have decided to take a break from tonights packing to post an update for all of you.

We are slated to leave tomorrow morning, but as it is obviously written somewhere in cyberspace…  I know we will not be out of here on time.  Something will go wrong if it can go wrong.

Our first stop will be at The Palms.  Then on Easter Sunday we move over to Old Key West.

I will be online when possible, but vacationing isn’t about being on a computer.  I wanted to bring my PS3, but I didn’t really think my wife would go for that.  I am going to miss playing Battlefield: Bad Company.  Me, and the neighbor make a good team.  For some reason we think alike when it comes to this game.  Agh… I will have to see a Psychologist upon returning due to the withdrawals.

Bob… Don’t get shot too many times.  You will have to work at it without your wingman.

Upcoming Trip To Do

While I am away in Disney World I will be doing a video news segment as much as possible.  If you have a question you want answered with a video answer, then please let me know, and I will do what I can.

I will also be doing shopping for anyone that needs something from Disney World.  If there is something that you need while I am there, then let me know.  I will have you PayPal the money, and I will make the purchase for you.

Daily postings will be happening while we are away.  I want everyone to get the most from my site.

I plan to run a contest, or two while I am away, so make sure you keep on top of the site, as you never can tell what I may give away next.
