Disney Cruise – Grand Cayman

I was converting some video tape from our camcorder when I ran into our cruise video from April 2008.

While on the 7 Night Disney Western Cruise we wanted to go on an excursion. With money being tight we decided to let our daughter choose the excursion that we would go on. She ended up deciding on the Grand Cayment Island Tour & Butterfly Farm.

You need to take a launch from the Disney Cruise Line boat to get to the Island.

When you first get on the tour bus you are taken around the island for a bit of a sightseeing trip seeing area sights, and the Governors Mansion. (Not so big from what I saw.) Stopping at HELL, the Grand Cayman Turtle Farm, and a butterfly farm are full stops.

The butterfly farm was very nice. You get to see many different types of butterflies. The only part that I didn’t like was how long the tour guide talked at the butterfly farm.

The stop at HELL was interesting to see, as there was nothing but a large parcel of land covered with a layer of black limestone. There is a building with a devil painted on it, as well. There are viewing platforms for those that want to view the HELL.

The turtle farm was far more interesting. As a guest you get to hold, and touch baby turtles. You get to walk around the tanks of adult turtles of many different breeds.

This is one excursion that I give a 9 our of 10. Simply one of the best excursions that I have been on to date while on a Disney cruise, as that is the only cruise we have been on.

Makes me want to go back on another Disney Cruise… From what I have read, and heard… Disney has a Magical cruise.

Cruising can be great. But let the buyer beware. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t–simple as that. There are scams everywhere. In foreign places you really have to watch out. I heard a story about a merchant claiming the customer broke something and demanded he be paid for it or the merchant would call the police. Funny thing is the customer paid but when the man took his money, he refused to give it to the customer.
