ORLANDO — A tourist from Pennsylvania has been found guilty of groping a woman dressed as Minnie Mouse at Walt Disney World.
An Orange County jury Tuesday morning convicted John Moyer, 60, of battery after he inappropriately touched the in-costume cast member in June.
Brittney Duncan McGoldrick, the victim who was playing Minnie Mouse, told the judge she shoved Moyer after he grabbed her breast, and did everything she could to keep his hands off of her.
Moyer was kicked out of his hotel room and spent two days in jail.
Even after the jury found him guilty of battery, Moyer maintained his innocence.
“I haven’t, as the prosecution says, molested or grabbed – maybe unintentionally touched, but that’s as far as it went,” Moyer said.
The state attorney’s office wanted the judge to sentence Moyer to five days in jail. However, Judge Wayne Shoemaker ordered 180 days of supervised probations, 50 hours of community service and a mental health evaluation.
Moyer will also have to write a letter of apology to the woman playing Minnie Mouse.
