Captain EO Grand Opening Guests

ALL YOU NEED IS GLOVE: Comedienne and Academy Award-winning actress Mo’Nique poses July 2, 2010 with a pair of 3-D glasses and one Mickey Mouse glove — a la Michael Jackson — as she prepares to visit “Captain EO” on the film’s grand re-opening day at Epcot.

Disney Cakes Made My Daughter Go Crazy

My daughter is not a simple child to please.  Recently she was going through our DVR recordings, and ran into the Cake Boss episode with the Cinderella Castle.  She now says she wants him to make her a cake for her 16th birthday.  I can only hope that I either get rich, or he moves so that I don’t have to worry about getting her any cakes like that.

She has watched some of the previous cake making competitions in Disney, and she goes absolutelly bonkers when she sees them.  She keeps telling us that she would eat the entire cake.  If she only realized how much they cost, and how much of a cholesterol treatment one would need if they ate the entire cake.  I also don’t think she understands the sheer magnitude of these cakes.

Hey Buddy… If you are reading this, or catch wind of this then please let me know if I can come by and talk to you.  Thanks.

Does anyone have the talent to actually make a cake that is Disney themed, and would you be willing to let my daughter try it out?

How Many Computer Techs Do They Have?

I am a 15+ year computer technician, and I am continuously learning something for my business.  I have discussed with my wife many times the option of us moving to Florida, and me getting a job with Disney.  I know Disney needs computer techs because more than 1/2 of their operation is computerized.  Disney has techs for the audioanimatronics, registers, and even the little known document management system that they have.  They must have a lot of techs.

There is a great need for techs that know what they are doing, and I am someone that would fit in well as far as I am concerned.  The biggest question is whether, or not Disney pays the brains for the work they actually do.  I guess I will have to wait until I know they are offering a lot of money, and then take a shot at it.

Maybe if I can’t get one of those jobs I can try to get a job testing Disney video games.

What Disney Should Have On Grounds

My wife, and I have always asked why Disney World doesn’t have more things on grounds.  Things like a food store, pharmacy, and things like that.  I can partially think that the food store would take away from their selling of the foods in the parks.  The pharmacy idea would probably be a good one.  There are hundreds of people that need things for asthma, and most definitelly a need for portable oxygen concentrators.

I think that Disney would put themselves one step above the rest of the industry.  Well, if you think about it they already are because they have hotels, numerous parks, dining, shopping, and more.  Disney should think about what they could do for people that have needs.

Things We Miss Seeing Around Disney

Back in 2003 when my little one was still a baby we purchased My Pal Mickey.  My Pal Mickey was a 10.5″ stuffed doll Mickey Mouse that had electronics in him.  Throughout the park he would give you park information, time, interesting facts, and even play some games.  Finding My Pal Mickey is one of the hardest things to do.  For the most part you can’t even find any accessories for him.  We have gotten lucky enough to find some accessories for him when we go to the Disney Outlet Store.

My Pal Mickey had a lifetime warranty for the most part.  When we purchased him we were given the idea of taking the epson receipt printer receipt, and putting it inside the body of Mickey.  This was so that the standard person wouldn’t misplace the receipt, as Disney wouldn’t make any exchanges on him without the receipt.

We don’t see him much anymore, and I wonder why.  We put him away, as he was a little bit of a pain to carry around.  Recently we ran into him again, and thought about selling him off when we get around to selling a lot of other Disney things like games, and also sell used books, and collectibles that we found from Disney past that my wife doesn’t want anymore.

Do you, or did you ever have a My Pal Mickey?  What did you think of it?
