Packing Tips For The Cruise

When going on a Disney Cruise, or any cruise there are some things you need to make sure you have when you pack.

Here is a listing of a lot of things that are must haves…

  • Reservations, Airline Passes (If applicable)
  • Passport, License, Digital Camera, Video Camera, Video Tapes / DVD’s
  • Money, Travelers Checks, Credit Cards, etc..
  • Sea Sickness Tablets, etc., Tretinoin gel, Diet pills
  • Feminine Personals, Male Personals
  • Dress clothing for “Formal” dining
  • Shorts, T-Shirts, Flip Flop type shoes
  • Pants, Shirts, Sneakers
  • Make-up for the women, Cologne, Perfume
  • Books, Laptop, Walkie Talkies
  • Pins for Trading, Autograph Books

Side note… Take a day bag with you when boarding.  This is because you will not get to see your luggage till much later on, and you may want to go swimming, or whatever, and need a change of clothing, or whatever might be necessary until you can get to your luggage.

This is only a preliminary listing, and your packing list should be unique to you, and your family.  One of the last times we went I forgot my passport, and had to have a friend go back to my house, and immediatelly fax it to the port.  This is not allowed anymore from my understanding.  Try to keep it light, as you will need to lug these bags through customs when getting off the boat.

When you go on a Disney Cruise don’t forget to tell them if you have cruised Disney previously.  This is so that you can get the Castaway Club gifts that are given to past cruisers.

Disney Cruising & Dining

Have you ever heard someone say anything about “Deck 9″ on a Disney Cruise?  Well, if you have, and have never understood why it is talked about so much I will tell you.  Deck 9 has all the swimming pools, jumbo screen, smoking areas, party area, and lots of FOOD.  When you want something to eat while you are roaming the boat, or just about anytime you just go to Deck 9, and get it.  The locations are open for a good portion of the day, and night.

This being said I think that when we take our next cruise in 2011 we are going to have to invest in the best weight loss supplement that money can buy.  When we go on the Disney Cruise we eat like kings, and queens.  The food is absolutelly delicious.  There are special parties on the boat that have late night eating too.

Below is a photo I found on Google showing the desert table from one of the Pirate parties.

Eating in the dining rooms is nice to do, but nothing beats a good “all you can eat” area.  I think that just about everyone in my family that has gone on the Disney Cruise could say the same thing about the food on the cruise… “It is good food, and helps everyone gain a bit of weight.”

Have you been on a Disney Cruise?  Did you find Deck 9 to be the best for just casual eating?

DVC Is Starting To Annoy Me

I have been a loyal DVC member for a few years.  Recently my wife sat me down, and discussed a serious money problem that we are having.  She pointed out to me that selling our DVC may be the only way to go.  After she showed me the annual dues statement I understood a bit more.  Our dues are at approximatelly $1000 a year.  This money must cover some real good toilet paper, tvs, internet, and maybe even a Refrigerator water filter.  These assumptions are all just me joking around, but the dues are a bit much.  Disney never represented that my dues would jump this much over a few years, and that is what I am ticked about.

Do you have a DVC?  Have your dues jumped up drastically?

Disney Causes Me Trouble

My wife is so worried about our upcoming Disney trip because once again she will be in her diet competition when we go away.  This makes it very hard for her to relax, and enjoy herself when we eat out in Disney World.  So now she’s going nuts looking at a diet supplement review to see if it could help her.  I don’t know why she bothers with them because when we get home she always says they didn’t work.  I told her that our timeshare has a gym, and she can use it to work out whenever she wants.  She asks ”Who wants to work out when they go on vacation?”  I told her obviously someone does, or they wouldn’t have put gyms in all the hotels in Disney.  Now this only makes her mad, and then she tries to make it like I’m calling her lazy when I’m just trying to help her save money, and help hernot sabotage her diet.

Vacationing With The Wii

My wife uses Wii Fit, and Wii Active, and she loves that video games not only can be useful as a fat burner, but that you can have fun while you’re using it.  Our little one also loves playing on her Wii with the Wii fit board, and I don’t think she even realizes that she’s getting exercise while she’s playing her video game.  I can’t say it enough that this makes me very happy.  This makes my wife very happy as well because she feels to much of video games make kids lazy, but when using the Wii you move around a lot, and she thinks that makes it a good system for kids to have.

When we went away this past trip to Disney we took our Wii with us because we thought it might be nice to play a game, and while playing a game put a bit of exercise in.  We have yet to find any real good Disney games for the Wii, but we will keep looking.  I have hoped that Disney would come up with some sort of game that virtually walks through Disney World, or something like that.

Do you have a Wii, and has it helped keep your kids active?
