Putting Disney Things To Auction

My daughter has been cleaning out her playroom, and has decided that some of the Disney toys that she got when she was younger can go.  We had bought her some of the more expensive playsets, and she always had fun playing with them, but she feels that she is too old.

It is a shame that she feels this way because I thought that she would have played with them for a long time.  Oh well, kids will be kids, and she wants to grow up too fast.  That is what I am concerned with most I guess.

What I have found is that if you have Disney toys that are rare, or hard to get then you can put them up in free online auctions, or fee based online auctions, and someone somewhere is more than likely looking for it.  We have always used EBay, but we have been looking for other alternatives.

Things to consider when doing this.

  1. Research your toy.
  2. Try to find everything that originally came with the toy.
  3. Make sure it is clean.
  4. List the item.

When listing the item do searches for the same item that you are trying to get rid of.  See what it is selling for on average, and also see what it has sold for in the past.  Don’t go too high, as it may not sell.

Finally… Make sure you have a PayPal account.  Never take checks, money orders, or such.  If you want to give local pickup, then make sure that you meet in neutral well populated places.  Never meet at your home.

I have gotten rid of some Disney toys for far more than we purchased them for originally because I am a serious online auction person.

Robert…Unfortunatelly I do not have any idea where that kind of information would be.  I have never seen that info anywhere.  Thanks for coming by, and I hope you keep coming back.

Just want to say that I love your blog. My wife and I are big Disney fans. We hope that our newborn will be one too.

It’s funny that you published this blog since I have been thinking about some of the stuff that I have recently.

Do the price guides that are published have section for Disney park memorabilia?

I have been trying to find out the worth of a Pirates of the Caribbean gun that I got when I was kid at Disney World back in the 80s. It is a real wood and metal flintlock gun (no plastic here).

I also have an Indiana Jones fedora hat from when the stunt show first started at MGM.

Any idea if the price guides have this type of stuff?
