Something New at Animal Kingdom…Picnic in the Park

We were at the Animal Kingdom today, and they are offering a different type of meal package.

Upon arrival at the Animal Kingdom you give your order to a person at the podium, and you choose a time to pick up your food.  You pick up your food, and pay without any major wait.

The ordering podium is at the front entrance inside the gates, and the pickup is at Kusafiri Coffee Shop which is next to Tusker House.

There is 2 tier plans. 

Tier 1 – Sandwiches is priced at:

  1. $24.99 for 3 people – 3 sandwiches, 1 lg side, 3 desserts or fruits, 3 bottles of water
  2. $32.99 for 4 people – 4 sandwiches, 2 lg sides, 4 desserts or fruits, 4 bottles of water
  3. $40.99 for 5 people – 5 sandwiches, 3 lg sides, 5 desserts or fruits, 5 bottles of water
  4. $48.99 for 6 people – 6 sandwiches, 4 lg sides, 6 desserts or fruits, 6 bottles of water

Tier 2- Rotisserie Chicken or Ham

  1. $29.99 for 3 people – 6 pieces of chicken or 1 lb ham, 2 lg sides, 3 desserts or fruits, 3 bottles of water
  2. $38.99 for 4 people – 8 pieces of chicken or 1 1/4lb ham, 3 lg sides, 4 desserts or fruits, 4 bottles of water
  3. $47.99 for 5 people – 10 pieces of chicken or 1 1/2lb ham, 4 lg sides, 5 desserts or fruits, 5 bottles of water
  4. $56.99 for 6 people – 12 pieces of chicken or 1 3/4lb ham, 5 lg sides, 6 desserts or fruits, 6 bottles of water

With any of the packages you receive a Disney Conservation Fund reusable bag, plates, plastic utensils, salt, pepper, and napkins.

    That’s pretty cool. We were never huge fans of AK eateries but this seems like a good option. Where are you directed to eat your meal?

    You can eat almost anywhere. They give you a map that has “picnic areas” marked on it.

    I enjoy dining at Epcot and avoid anything but full service. However,I wish they would do this at the Magic Kingdom and the Hollywood Studios–not enough reasonable choices in eiher for a quick lunch.
