Google Views Of Disney Past

Here are some interesting views of Disney World.  They aren’t from today, but that is because Google views aren’t current.  They are within approximatelly the past year, possibly 2 years.

Click HERE for a Google Maps view of River Country current.

Not far from the River Country site lies Discovery Island.  Click HERE for a Google Maps view of that.

To top off those 2 projects there is the Pop Century that never got finished.  Click HERE for a Google Maps view of that.

Shopping For Luggage For Disney Trips

When now drive when we go to Disney World.  We used to fly, but the costs of airfare has gone crazy.  A few years ago we put a hitch on the car, and borrowed a hitch carrier.  We take the luggage, and put it on there, and wrap everything with a tarp so that nothing gets wet during the drive. This also saves some space inside the car.  Last year we realized upon arrival to Disney World that one of our suitcases was badly torn up.  I guess it was the age.  When we returned home I had the wife start hunting through websites for decently priced luggage.  She was in heaven by me asking her to do some more shopping.

I am not one that likes to spend on much.  This stands true especially when it is something that only gets used 2-3 times per year.  Our little one doesn’t want to part with hers because it has Tinkerbell on it.  If wife could find a specially made one with Eeyore on it, then I am sure she would get one of them.

How many times have you replaced your luggage over the past few years?

High Altitude Jobs In Disney

Have you ever stopped, and looked at how many people have jobs that require them to be at great heights?  In DisneyLand there is a group of climbers that climb the Matterhorn mountain.  In Disney World Mickey Mouse is on top of the mountain in Fantasmic.  In WDW there are a lot of buildings that are tall, and someone must maintain them.  On the Disney Cruise I have seen the guys that work on the side of the boat at pretty great heights.  I can’t even imagine what that job is like, nor would I want to.  I am not afraid of heights, but I limit how much “Height” I will tolerate.  To work that job I would hope that the people have gotten some good life insurance rates.  I am sure that they are very safe, but anything can happen in life.  What kind of person looks through the paper for a job that requires “High Flying Work?”

Disney K’Nex Toys

I just found out about some new toys.  Here is the article.

Disney Park aficionados can agree that Space Mountain and Dumbo the Flying Elephant attractions are two of the most beloved and iconic attractions in the Parks. Whether you’re soaring at the speed of sound through space or flying high with the help of a gentle elephant with magical ears, riding these attractions is a Disney rite of passage for both the young & young at heart.

Now, through the Magic of Disney Theme Park Merchandise and K’NEX (construction and building toys), you can bring the magic of Disney home and watch as your favorite attractions come to life, with our the Space Mountain and Dumbo the Flying Elephant Building Sets! Too cool for words – you have to see how it works to believe it!

Both building sets are now available. The best place to find them will be inside Once Upon A Toy in Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World.
