Places We Never Got To Stay Yet…

Over the past many years we have stayed in quite a few of the Disney World resorts.  As a child I spent a great many years in a lot of them also.  We mainly stayed at the Grand Floridian for most of what I remember.  Having the “Gold Key” was a great thing.  Everything was included as far as I remember.

When I took my wife to Disney for her first time we went with my parents.  We stayed in a tent in Fort Wilderness because we didn’t have much money.  We quickly got out of there because a major storm rolled through, and our tent became an instant swimming pool ruining all of our stuff for the most part.

After that we stayed at the All Star Movies, Music, and Sports whenever we went down to Florida.  A few years ago before we bought our timeshare we drove down to Disney, and rented an RV to be taken to Fort Wilderness.  We found this to be great.  Now with the Disney Vacation Club ownership we have lost touch with where we started.

We haven’t stayed at the Contemporary, Beach Club, or Port Orleans.  I don’t remember ever staying in these as a child, but I may be wrong.

We were discussing the other day either taking our camper down to Disney, or possibly even renting a cabing in Fort Wilderness.  We have never been in them, or even seen them, but I have heard that they are very nice.  They may not have all the ammenities of a hotel room, or resort, but they are affordable.  I have no idea if there is enough sleeping space, log beds, air conditioning, or what.

Has anyone ever stayed in one?  What are they like?

Nausicaa BluRay/DVD Review By Taylor

The main characters are Nausicaa, Lord Yuba, and Azbel.

Nausicaa is a story about the world being engulfed by a poisonous jungle in which giant bugs are guarding.  The Valley of the Wind is one of the last habitable places on Earth for humans, and their princess is Nausicaa.  Nausicaa can calm animals and is very adventurous, and also daring.  The neighboring Talmekians decide to attack the Valley of the Wind so as to raise an ancient evil monster so to destroy the bugs, and jungle.  They don’t know that it is actually bad to destroy the jungle.

I don’t want to spoil the movie, or the ending, so please watch the movie to find out what happens next.

My least favorite part was in the beginning when they were describing the setting.  It didn’t keep me interested at first.

My favorite part was when Nausicaa got her pet squirrel.

I give the movie a 3.5 out of 5.

I would definitelly watch the movie again.

We were sent this video so as to review the movie.  This review was not influenced by receiving this item.

Recommended Disney Android Apps

I am continually looking for good Android apps for my Disney experiences.  I have recently compiled a list of a few of them for you.  You will need the Barcode Reader app installed to use the QR codes below.

  • Ship Mate – Disney Cruise (Jan Jirout)

This app by far is the best app I have found.  Interactive maps, and information about the cruise ships.  You can also see the schedules.

  • Disney Channel TV
  • Days Left Widget (Leihwelt.com)

This app makes a little countdown on your screen.

  • Disney World Wait Times (VersaEdge Software)

This app lets you view, and also update wait times for attractions throughout the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

T Minus 30 Days To Cruise

The anxiety is starting to get to us now.  We are now starting to prepare for our Back 2 Back cruise in April aboard the Disney Dream.  Usually I would already have asked my wife to have at least half of the packing done, but she has been busy making our Fish Extender gifts, and getting the T-Shirts finished for the other cruisers.

We have been showing our daughter videos, and photos of the ship.  We finally got to see a video of an inside stateroom like we will be staying in.  The rooms square footage is smaller than the last ship we were on, so we are wondering if they found a way to shrink the size of the mattresses, or if they had custom made furniture designed for this ship.

The virtual porthole is where the challenge waits.  My wife is a bit concerned about the virtual porthole being on at certain times, and hopes that there is a On/Off switch.  Have you been on the ship, and what did you see?

Dolphins On The Disney Cruise

The last time we cruised on the Disney Cruise we caught a very quick glimpse of dolphins.  We have always heard about people seeing dolphins while cruising, but I have never been lucky enough to get a good view of them.  Is there a specific time, or area that the dolphins go to?  Should I bring a pair of Nikon, Bushnell, or Steiner binoculars with us?  Do binoculars help?

I would really like to show my daughter dolphins, and would appreciate any help in doing this.
