Easter In Disney

For many years we have made a point of being in Disney World for Easter.  My daughter has enjoyed this holiday because of all the festivities that Disney has for the kids.  As DVC members we get to go to the Boardwalk Resort, and she gets together with hundreds of other kids in crafts, games, and grouped Easter candy gathering.

This year we won’t be able to partake in the fun because our school system changed our schedule so drastically, and we won’t be able to be there.  We are going on a cruise the week prior, and we have been trying to decide if we are going to order one of the Easter baskets for kids that Disney does offer.

Being that we are going to be home on Easter we are thinking that we will probably just leave the miscellanous expenses behind, and just leave it out because she is getting older, and probably won’t mind if she doesn’t get a huge basket.  We are not sure what we are doing for Easter yet, but more than likely we will just relax, and get some things done after @2 weeks of being away.

What do you do when you are away during holidays?

Eating In Disney World

Here is some information to take into consideration when you visit Disney World, and dining is about to come into play.  These are all things that we practice when vacationing with the mouse.

When planning your vacation make sure to book any desired meals well in advance.  Most restaurants book up quickly, and during PEAK times the dining is sometimes even harder to work with.  Check out the Disney dining system by CLICKING HERE.

If you are going into the parks for a day take some small food with you so that you can snack and not have to purchase as much while in the parks.  We go out to the Super WalMart when we get to Florida and we purchase some food that our diet supplements out like candies, and ready made lunches.  We take them into the parks, and eat them as necessary to save some cash.

Weigh out the cost of eating individual meals without a dining plan.  Calculate one of the cheaper locations in WDW, and then calculate what the dining plan would cost instead.  9 times out of 10 the dining plan will work out more feasible.

If you are in a DVC room, or any room that has refrigerator, microwave, etc., then leave the park at peak hours, and go back to your room to eat.

My Daughter Has Concerns

For several years we were told that our daughter has eczema.  Knowing this we are cautious about everything we do that might effect her.  Going on a cruise in a little over a month brings this back to light.  My wife is questioning the doctor, and if we should change doctors because he is saying she doesn’t have eczema, and yet I don’t think you just lose eczema.  Correct me if I am wrong.  Going on the cruise there will be sun, and moist air for the most part, but there will be some dry times, and that is the times that we worry about.  What is the most common eczema treatment that you have heard of?  I know I also don’t want to have to see the ship doctor because they charge big numbers for that, and I don’t think they accept medical insurance.

Cruise Eating

Disney Cruise food is excellent.  I am sure if you have been on a Disney Cruise that you know this as well.  There is always something good at your table, and the deck parties bring even more dangerous eating to the situation.  We leave for our cruise in @40 days.  While this is great we have all been concerned that we are going to come back looking like “Augustus” from Willy Wonka.  This concern comes because after cruising Disney 3+ times we know the kind of food that they serve, and how much we “CAN” eat.  We have decided that even though we are on vacation we will have to breakdown, and attempt to use the fitness center on the boat.  Here is how I plan on getting around all of this… I will make sure that my pre workout supplement consists of lots of good food, and I will just have to workout just a bit more to get it off after.

Toontown Is Gone.

I was just checking out JeffLangeDVD.com, and saw video and pictures of what Toontown in Disney World looks like now.  They were pretty fast in putting up a large green fence, and taking down what they needed to in order to continue with the Fantasyland Expansion project.  The Fantasyland Expansion project is tenative to be complete in 2012.

In the photos that I saw you can see that Judges Tent, Mickeys House, and Minnies House are gone.  This leaves me to wonder where they put Plutos dog beds.  That’s a joke.  From everything that I have read Goofy’s Barnstormer will remain, and be renamed.  I am not sure about the ship at this point.

With all the walls that are up around Fantasyland it makes me a bit more happy that I am not going to the Magic Kingdom for the upcoming trip we are going on.  Yes, Disney needed a major change somewhere, and it looks like it will finally get it.  I believe that this expansion will greatly increase the amount of people that can get into the Magic Kingdom, which isn’t always a good thing.

What do you think about the expansion project?
