Who Inspects Disney Property?

In NJ, and most of the modern world US you need a licensed electrician to do work on electric.  I have seen some of the beautiful electric work that Disney personell have done, and I would have never guessed that it was approved for safety, or code.

The next part is actually me noting some of the amusing things that you see in some of the Disney attractions…

I was in Mickey’s Country House in the Magic Kingdom last time we were there.  I saw the most outrageous electrical job you could ever imagine.  As you will see below in the photo, the light fixtures are actually drop lights.

What have you seen while in Disney that was actually designed to look like it actually belonged there?

Disney Remodeling

I have wanted to remodel small portions of our house with Disney in mind.  My wife, and I have come to some common interests when it comes to what we BOTH want.

I found a few faucets for the bathroom.  They were a bit pricey, so they definitelly won’t be on the list of “Will Do’s.”

We have looked into wallpapers, borders, and tiling, but I think we are definitelly going to wait a bit.

I want to get a movie prop, and use it as a house centerpiece.  It could be interesting.  I envy the guy that won the Mark IV monorail.  That would have made an interesting camper, or something of the nature.

Horseback Riding In Disney World

For years my daughter went on the pony ride in Ft. Wilderness.  Each year we had to make sure that she was watching her eating prior to going, as there was a weight limit, but no age limit.  We had to have the lightest child at the age of 7.

Recently we went to Ft. Wilderness, and she asked about horseback riding.  We were a bit strapped for cash, so we had to decline going.  The horseback riding experience in Disney is very nice.  You go out for @ a 2 mile walk in the woods.  You are in a guided group, so you don’t get to go wherever you want.  She really wanted to go.  I believe it cost @ $50.

She misses at least seeing the animals that used to be at the petting zoo in Ft. Wilderness.  You can still get pony rides while there.  Maybe I should put her on a real strict diet to get her weight to where she can get on a pony… Much cheaper.  ROFLMAO.

She asked about riding when we got home.  We told her that a lot of places that offer horseback riding in NJ want you in their camp, or whatever.  Other than being in their camp, or whatever you had to have the right riding gear.  This would consist of helmet, breeches, and other necessary clothing.  She instantly said no way, as she wouldn’t want to wear uncomfortable stuff.

Now she will wait to go back to Ft. Wilderness, as it is a bit expensive here in NJ anyway.

Toy Story Mania Attraction

Recently while visiting the Hollywood Studios in Disney World we got to go on one of the newest attractions, known as Toy Story Mania.  Similar to Buzz Lightyear in lines of interactivity, there are many differences.  The ride seems to always have a long line, but that comes with any new ride, especially good ones.

On Toy Story Mania you board a “vehicle” that is 2 seated.  Not only 2 seated, but double sided.  As you ride through the sections the two sides of the vehicle each interact with the set.  You handle a “gun” with a pull string that shoots a virtual shot at the screens scoring points.

I give the ride a 8 out of 10.

I didn’t get to take a video of the ride, but I did find a very good cut of the ride on Youtube.
