Disney Treehouse Villas

We got to walk through the Saratoga Springs DVC Preview Center when we were in Disney.  When you first walk in you are presented with a 3d scaled size model of the new Treehouse Villas.

The Treehouse Villas are nestled in the woods between Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs.

The original treehouses were replaced for many reasons.  The new Treehouse Villas will be part of the Saratoga Springs Resort.  The new units will still have the preserved octagonal shape.

There will be 60 units.  Each unit is supposed to be equivalent to a 3 bedroom unit.  Each unit is capable of sleeping up to 9 people.  These villas will be @ 10 feet off of the ground.

Saratoga Resort owners are able to book up to 11 months prior to arrival, and others are able to book up to 7 months prior to arrival.

Upcoming Site Stuff…

A member area will be created that will have downloadable files of autographed character photos.  These make cheap, but one of a kind souveniers.

A member area will be created that will have downloadable ringtones in mp3, and wav format.

Upcoming Videos…

Video of the Treehouse Villas should be up within 24-48 hours.

Video of the Street Party parade in the Magic Kingdom should be up within 24-48 hours.

Photos of the Fort Wilderness Meadows pool should be up within 24-48 hours.

Questionable Things…

There is an island on Bay Lake other than Discovery Island. What is its name?
We had a boat captain tell us it was Shipwreck Island…
This was because Walt had crashed there…

Seven Seas lagoon being man made we all know, but it is called this because it is water from the seven seas… So says a boat captain.

Factual Things…

The new buses at Ft. Wilderness have a small display in the public view, and has a automated voice that calls out the next stop, etc.

All animals from Discovery Island went to Animal Kingdom.  They were transported by a boat named Disney Ark 1.

The Meadows pool area at Ft. Wilderness is in final stages of completion.  The slide, jacuzzi, and kiddie pool are finished.  There is other misc construction still going on.

Trails End buffet… There was prime rib, pizza, chilli, salad, shrimp, chicken, soup, desserts, and more.

For the vacationer with a car…  Sizzler @1 mile North of Downtown Disney on Apopka Vineland Rd. South has excellent food, and very cheap.  Another popular place is Ponderosa.

You can walkthrough a actual model of the Animal Kingdom villas in the Saratoga Springs theatre.

Old Key West 1 Bedroom Villa

We have stayed in numerous OKW 1 bedroom villas during our DVC ownership.  This trip was a first for me in finding a 1 bedroom without a “split” bathroom.

Every 1 bedroom that we have had in the past have had a bathroom that has 2 doors.  This 1 bedroom makes it so that no matter what anyone going into the bathroom must go through the main bedroom.

Here are some photos of the 1 bedroom.

Has anyone else noticed anything odd about their rooms?

Easter – Disney BoardWalk Style

Today we awoke at 6:30am to check-out of our accomodations at the Palms.  We were enroute to Old Key West.

We went to the continental breakfast, and then headed to Disney, which is @ 2 miles away.  I looked at the clock, and realized that we would not be able to check-in at Old Key West until after the festivities at the Boardwalk.

At the Boardwalk they had 3 sections ribboned off for different age groups.  My daughter was very excited to be there, as she seems to enjoy the Disney activities, and such.  The area that I live in doesn’t offer much for the children as far as I am concerned.  That is why we enjoy going out of town for some holidays.

Disney puts out enough candy to make dentists laugh.

She got @10 lbs of candy.  She doesn’t realize that some of that will be given to other kids, and some will go home for children in the family.

Disney really does do a nice job, and I know we will be returning for Easter 2010.

Old Key West Room Database

I am going to start a listing here that will grow based on information that I may have, and also what you contribute.

With a database people can try to get an idea of the pros, and the cons of any room so that others can be alert to issues when booking, or checking in.
