Disney Exercise Rooms

When we have gone to Disney World, and on the Disney Cruise we have seen some serious state of the art exercise rooms.  When I look at them I sometimes have to wonder if they have a lot of people that use them because I usually see them empty when I go past them.  I would think that Disney could use some cheaper alternatives to save money on the exercise equipment.

I have been looking at some new items for my wife for use in exercising, and some of them seem like they might even go over well in the exercise rooms that we see.  Things like thera bands.  We already have Wii Fit, but I have never seen that in Disney anywhere.  We found Wii Bowling on the cruise, but that is more of a fun game.

After all the good food that everyone consumes in Disney I can understand that people might want a fun way to lose some of the pounds.  The Wii Fit would be a fun, and fairly inexpensive way to offer some weight loss, and weight maintenance.

Staying Fit In Disney And With Disney

Each year we go to Disney World my wife and I discuss going down to the exercise rooms.  Well… That never actually happens.  (Getting there.)  Recently my wife started her dieting, and exercising again.  She tries hard.  I told her that when we go to Disney World this Christmas we can both go to the fitness room and workout.

I think that Disney could do a lot of good if they started offering things like workout classes, and other things like the ever growing zumba work out.  I know nothing about Zumba, and don’t think that I want to, but I will support my wife 100% if she decides that she wants to do something like that back at home.  Disney could make some money at this if they thought about the idea. It surprises me that they don’t even have things like zumba on the cruise.  I have read many peoples posts on some sites about how they wish the cruise had zumba.

If you want to get in a little bit of sweating and exercise just look around whatever Disney resort you are staying in.  There is almost guaranteed to be a fitness room.  Some properties even have bicycle rentals.

Keeeping Fit While Cruising

Now that my wife is working hard at keeping her weight off she has been looking at the different possibilities for exercise while on the boat.  We never knew that there was an exercise room on the boat, so that is one possibility.  She is also going to do the morning walk like everyone talks about.  This is for sure going to keep her on track with her daily walk around the neighborhood that she currently does.

The Disney Cruise Line Fitness Center is part of the Vista Spa & Salon located on Deck 9, Forward of the Disney Wonder. This state-of-the-art exercise facility provides a stunning ocean view setting and a complete range of cardiovascular and weight machines, as well as a plethora of classes and programs including yoga, Pilates and aerobics instruction. For a fee of $75.00, you can schedule a one-on-one 60-minute session with a personal trainer. The Fitness Center is an adults-only venue open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day except when the ships are docked. Reservations for instructional classes, seminars or one-on-one training sessions may be set up at the Fitness Center any time after 1:00 p.m. on the day you first board the ship or any time thereafter. Please note that Guests are required to be 18 years of age or older to use the facilities.

The Fitness Center includes:

  • Open-air track for walking and jogging, about 1/3 of a mile in length
  • Weight machines
  • Spinning machines
  • Treadmills and Ellipticals
  • Instructional classes (yoga, Pilates, aerobics)
  • Personal Training Sessions

You also enjoy the benefits of the following:

  • Free iPod Shuffle while you work out
  • Showers
  • Lockers
  • Complimentary Towels
  • Men’s and Women’s Changing Rooms
  • Complimentary Water

I told her to look into some of the different weight loss, and other types of pills like apidexin.  I told her that water pills would be something I definitelly recomment.  She wants to stay natural, and doesn’t want to take pills, but I told her that whatever works is best.

Wife Wants Disney World Walking Trails

Today the wife has hit me with the thoughts of walking some of the trails in Disney World while we are there in late March / early April.  I asked her if she had a lapse of thoughts because the amount of walking that we do in the parks is enough to make me weak at the knees.  She told me that irregardless of vacationing she needs to keep up her daily routine no matter what.  I told her I would do some research, and find the info she needed.

I told her that the one that I liked most would be the walk in Fort Wilderness.  Why is that you ask… Well, I can easily rent a golf cart, and pace behind her in case she needs to stop, or decides to stop.  Granted I can’t take the cart to all of the walking trail, but a good portion of it.  The path leads from the beginning of Ft. Wilderness, and goes all the way to the Wilderness Lodge.

She seems to like this idea, and also I can stop off at the arcades, eat a nice meal at Trails End, or even just sit down, and take a break.  She said she is going to give this trail a try, and she is also now doing her own digging into other trails to see if there are any others that might suit her better.  For me I will just keep doing what I am doing, and if I really need some weight loss maybe I will just consult with some xenadrine reviews.

Fitness Centers In Disney World

Just looking at that picture is making me break a sweat!

Today when I came home my wife hit me with some questions that she needed answered for our upcoming trip to Disney World.  She wanted to know if there was any restrictions on use of the fitness centers at the Disney resorts.  She also wanted to know if there were saunas at any of the resorts.  I gave her the answers, and for the sauna one I had to do a bit of research for her, as I am not a big “Fitness” person.  I also told her that if she isn’t going to be comfortable exercising with other people that she might as well figure something else out.

I told her that I would be more than happy to make any reservations for her, but I would not be going to any fitness centers while I am on vacation.  If I wanted to do anything to help my physique, then I would try to find the best muscle supplement that I could, and along with the walking I do while there in Disney I would be fine.
