Why Remake? Come Up With New Things.

I personally don’t like it when a company tries to make more money by remaking a movie that was done many years ago.  This stands true even more for a cartoon.  I love Disney movies, but they seem to be infamous for remaking classics.

I thought that Alice In Wonderland was a good movie, but it wasn’t entirely in line with the cartoon.  If you are going to do a human movie of a cartoon, then at least make the storyline stay the same.

I say this because I just learned of a movie coming out in July 2010.  Sometimes the movie house flops with the production, and sometimes they make it big.  Let’s see what happens with this one.

Sorcerers Apprentice is the new guinea pig for the “Money Beast.”

“An average college student (Baruchel) is reluctantly recruited to work for a sorcerer (Cage), who gives him a crash course in the art and science of magic to prepare him for a battle against the forces of darkness in modern Manhattan.”

– Nicolas Cage plays a sorcerer named Balthazar Blake.
– Jay Baruchel plays an average college student who becomes his apprentice.
– Teresa Palmer plays the love interest of Baruchel’s character.
– Alfred Molina plays an evil magician named Horvath.
– Toby Kebbell plays a celebrity illusionist named Drake Stone, who joins forces with Horvath.
– Monica Bellucci plays a sorceress named Veronica, the long-lost love of Balthazar Blake.
