We are making last minute preparations for our departure for Walt Disney World.  Where would you put the luggage on these cars?  I wish…

If all goes right I will be out of here by 1pm. (This is barring waiting for the housesitter) We don’t have to wait for our friends, as they are driving casual, and leaving before us.  I will probably still get to Disney before them.  Wife is currently making final preparations… vacuuming the car, and cleaning the windshield on car.  The little one has been hard at work between school, and helping out with her packing.  She asked if I had one of my ipods still so that she could listen to music, but unfortunatelly I don’t.  She will have to work with whatever I can give her.

I just found out that we are going to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary event in the Magic Kingdom.

Well, I will definitelly be updating everyone while we are away.  I will try to get some videos, and postings up shortly after we arrive.

Don’t forget to send me your requests.  If there is a LEGAL way to get something, or get information, then I will do it.

Where To Stay When Going To WDW

Where to stay when going to Disney World is always a perplexing question for people.  I have tried to help many people arrange their vacations over the past few years.  Being an “Expert Disney Vacationer” I feel that the knowledge I have is valuable to many.

I have steered people to homes for rent, Disney resorts, and even “stone throw distance” hotels.  I have found the later to be more economical, but the experience of staying on grounds in Disney World is hard to achieve unless you are there.

If you are on a budget, then I suggest the All Star hotels, or even Fort Wilderness.  Fort Wilderness has campsites, and camper sites, as well as cabins.  If you want the “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” trip, then stay at the Grand Floridian.

I personally can state that I am done with the routine paying vacation.  I purchased Disney Vacation Club, and have found that I have actually saved a considerable amount of money in comparison to nightly pay resorts.  Disney Vacation Club is not a “Oridinary Timeshare.”  The DVC is a totally unique way of vacationing your way.

You initially purchase points that are good for a specified amount of years.  Those points can be used to make as many vacations as you have points.  You can “Bank” your points forward up to one year, or “Borrow” from up to one year forward.  We have been using our DVC membership to the best of our capabilities.  If you want to know more, then click HERE, and a DVC representative will send you some info.

Disney Being A Brand…Not A Vacation.

I have seen Disney get their hands into just about everything that you can imagine over the past years.  They have gone from food to timeshares to cellular service.  The only thing that I haven’t seen them get involved in is term life insurance online.

Disney could probably do some serious money making if they did handle insurance.  I don’t know, but I think Walt would be rolling in his grave if he saw everything the the board has gotten involved in.

Walt was a simple man from everything that I have read.  It seems that he wanted to build things for education, and enjoyment.  Well, I guess we will have to wait and see what Disney has up their sleeve next.

Final Preperations For October Trip

We have recently been doing our final plannings for our trip in October.  Being that we are driving we are now making sure that everything on the car is in top shape.  We haven’t decided on if we are going to get a  roadside assistance plan, or not.  Roadside assistance is good if anything happens, but I also have to consider that I have a Kia plan already on the car.

The trip from NJ takes me about 18 hours.  We do have to make stops, but we have accounted for them this time.  What we have found is that when we drive down we will usually stay overnight in an Disney area hotel, and check in the next day.

We just found out that a few more of our friends are going to be going to Disney at the same time as us.  I think this trip is going to be outrageous.

Now It’s Time To Say Goodbye…

I have decided to take a break from tonights packing to post an update for all of you.

We are slated to leave tomorrow morning, but as it is obviously written somewhere in cyberspace…  I know we will not be out of here on time.  Something will go wrong if it can go wrong.

Our first stop will be at The Palms.  Then on Easter Sunday we move over to Old Key West.

I will be online when possible, but vacationing isn’t about being on a computer.  I wanted to bring my PS3, but I didn’t really think my wife would go for that.  I am going to miss playing Battlefield: Bad Company.  Me, and the neighbor make a good team.  For some reason we think alike when it comes to this game.  Agh… I will have to see a Psychologist upon returning due to the withdrawals.

Bob… Don’t get shot too many times.  You will have to work at it without your wingman.
